Sunday Morning Green Walks
Copenhagen is going green this year! And so are the Sunday Morning Walks of the Danish Architecture Centre. Come explore all the hidden, greenish gems of Copenhagen on our guided tours.
Copenhagen has been chosen as the European Green Capital of 2014. But what kind of green architecture exists in the city? Which new buildings in Copenhagen are frontrunners when it comes to sustainability? And what about the urban spaces - are they taking e.g. torrential rain into account?
Join us for our Sunday Morning Green Walks that gives you the opportunity of combining an urban stroll with a talk about Copenhagen becoming greener and smarter. The Sunday Morning Green Walks explore both new and old parts of the city - on foot or by boat. We're kick-starting the tours in February where we have invited three experts to guide you through:
This tour takes you through the fascinating and still developing neighbourhood. Senior head of planning at the CPH City & Port Development, Kirsten Ledgaard, will guide us to the green solutions and temporary urban spaces that characterize the neighbourhood.
The Inner City
Your guide for this walk is Executive Climate Project Director
in the city of Copenhagen, Jørgen Abildgaard. Copenhagen has the
ambition to become the world's first carbon neutral capital. The
tour will take us to new urban spaces and buildings in downtown
Copenhagen that might lead the way.
The Copenhagen Harbour
Tina Saaby, the city architect of Copenhagen, will join us for a boat trip through the harbour and tell about its development from an industrial to a recreational area with clean water to swin in during the Summer.
