Construction is just wrapping up on this thriving new harbour district, where condos and houseboats share waterfront access.

Havneholmen is the name of the area behind the Fisketorvet Shopping Mall at the end of Kalvebod Brygge.

Havneholmen is a mixture of commercial properties and housing, and there is already a harbour bath and there are plans for more, as well as a little marina to make the area more vibrant and active. There might also be room for a small number of houseboats at the southern end. The plan for the quarter is based on the concept of a "bowl" created by having the building roofs slope down toward the center of the area, where the central access road runs. Another important element is a pedestrian promenade six metres wide that extends all the way around Havneholmen. In some places, it is possible to walk under the buildings.

Several offices were involved in the Havneholmen project. On the north end, PLH Arkitekter designed a new headquarters for the Aller concern, while Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitektfirma A/S designed some of the housing and submitted a somewhat futuristic proposal for harbour baths, consisting of three pools placed around a central platform.
