Musikkens Hus

A striking building that will accentuate Jutland both culturally and architecturally is coming to the waterfront.
Musikkens Hus will contain a concert hall and other facilities for the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, the North Jutland Academy of Music, and the Department of Music at Aalborg University.
Architecturally, it is composed of complex volumes that are adapted in scale to the surrounding buildings, and present a symphony of glass, metal, concrete and brick. The round windows contribute to the distinctiveness of the design, and will, according to the architects, Coop Himmelb(l)au, impart bustle, suppleness and unique spatial experiences. Both architectural and acoustic quality has to be first-class, to thereby ensure that the building becomes the focal point for a multitude of musical and cultural activities.
