The church is built in red monk brick, and its architectural style has many Gothic features. Each bay of the side aisles has corbie gables, and between choir and nave there are two tall, slender, cylindrical stair turrets. Inside the choir is a light and airy space with tall windows, ogival star vaults and slender piers. The church is richly ornamented with frescoes and has a beautiful altarpiece made by Bernt Notkes.
