Århus Teater is situated on a triangular site in the centre of the city and has a symmetrical main facade fronting on Bispetorv. The facade wall is built in limestone with exuberant ornamentation, while the other parts of the building are of red brick. The gable panel of the central part of the facade is adorned with a scene from a Holberg play made by Hans Tegner. The interior of the building is richly ornamented with motifs taken from Danish flora and fauna by K. Hansen Reistrup and Hack Kampmann.
