The layout of the square is an example of collaboration between an architect and an artist. A circular pool with gilded decorations marks the middle of the square, and a row of linden trees marks the length of one of the sides of the square. Parallel with the linden trees sculptor Mogens Møller placed nine bronze amphoras with figures representing the nine planets of the solar system. The amphoras stand on a narrow strip of red granite, and the unequal space between them corresponds proportionally with the distance between the planets. From time to time the figures give off dense steam.
