Bispebjerg Bakke residential property

The idea to build Bispebjerg Bakke popped up at a meeting between the artist Bjørn Nørgaard and the chairman of Haandværkerforningen i København.

The vision was to create a building with an almost sculptural appearance based on good workmanship and the best materials.

Bispebjerg Bakke consists of 135 apartments in 11 buildings. The organically curved fronts of the houses vary, depending on the angle from which they are seen and the roof follows the natural sloapes of the landscape.
The idea of the houses was to regard the houses not as a collection of industrial elements but as an entity, a unity. This idea is also visible in the workmanship and the choice of materials.
