Enghave Square

The square is the urban part of an open space area that is terminated to the west with the park Enghaven on the other side of Enghavevej. The re-shaping of the eastern part of the square has resulted in the conversion of approx. 4,000 sqm of roadways to recreational areas.
The guiding principle of the new layout of the square was the preservation of the existing elements like e.g., the fountain in the middle of the square, the circular hedge to the west and the large chestnut tree to the east. The present rows of trees were added then, and so the central area is framed to the north and south. The re-shaping of the square was awarded a prize in 1996.
