Hauser Plads (UK)

Just a stone's throw away from the bustling shopping street of Købmagergade one finds Hauser Plads, a small, green oasis with lots of space for adults, but most definitely for children too. Because, right in the middle of the square, is a lovely playground - which also functions as the roof of the Cleaning Facilities Centre, on the site of the former underground car park.

The playground on Hauser Plads resulted from a major restructuring of the whole square. That resulted in offices and space for everyone involved in the day-to-day cleaning of the city's public spaces.

All over the playground there is a wonderful mixture of materials and shapes. In amongst all the usual playground elements there are conifers, real grass, artificial grass and concrete sculptures, which children can play on. But what all these wonderful playground elements have in common is a well-designed and minimalist look, which makes the playground exciting and interesting on an aesthetic level as well.
