The Danish National Bank

After an architectural competition an entire block and the former national bank were demolished. With the blind base storey and the overlying office construction in dark tinted glass, this centrally situated building stands out as one of the most distinctive constructions in the city. The lower storey and the office gables are furnished with sides of Greenland marble. The interior of the foyer rising to the full height of the building is considered one of Arne Jacobsen's principal works.
